Kinsella Group visits Tuttlingen Germany

We would be surprised if you are in the MedTech business and have not heard of or visited Tuttlingen, Germany. Long the center of surgical instrument manufacturing due to its roots in stainless steel manufacturing, today its businesses also encompass a number of diverse world class medical device and technology suppliers.

We spent the week visiting MedTech business leaders around the Tuttlingen area. We found many reported strong results for fiscal year 2016 and saw continuing optimism about the future. This is tempered by the increasing demands put on the industry due to compliance and regulatory concerns. Key among these is a trend to shift 510(k) burdens from OEMs to contract manufacturers.
